Where good friends dine: SOM BAZAAR!!!

Thank you very much SOM bazaar for making my Thursday afternoon totally satisfied with all the delicious food. I even got to chit chat with my long lost friends! Didn't know na isang bazaar lang pala ang kailangan para magkita kita kami...drama much? Anyway. It took us around 30 minutes to decide on what to order because everything looked good and it was so hard to resist the calories. Good thing our friend was with us and gave us a tour around the place.

Of course, since we were there to support our friend's booth, we ordered their best seller, HK style fried noodles and no regrets. The peanut butter add on sauce made it unique from other fried noodles out there. Hope they get a spot in JSEC so I can eat there for free during lunch time....kidding.
I forgot which booth made this but it's really delicious! If my memory serves me right, it's only 95 pesos but it tastes expensive! Its as if you ordered your food in a restaurant. I can just imagine students lining up for this...And for dessert, we ordered waffles!!! They have definitely achieved the crispy on the outside, soft on the inside waffle that I love!

GAAAAAAH CHICKEN PARMIGIANA!!

Some booths are really attention getter such as these:

WITTY hihihi

Cute menu!!
But the best part of the day was when I got to see my friends from Ateneo!!!

MY GIRLFRIENDS!!!!

GOOD FOOD + AWESOME PEOPLE= GV!!!

Good luck to the next batch of JSEC challengers! And kudos to all the booths!

The “Slow-Food” Experience at Tourne

In our fast paced world today, we usually go for the fast food meals, which are readily available but equally unhealthy. Tourne offers totally (and literally) the opposite. They want their customers to experience their “slow food”, meaning each dish carefully and meticulously cooked for their customers. They make everything they serve their customers, even ketchup! What’s also unique about this restaurant is that they change their menu every two weeks so you’ll definitely experience different dishes with your every visit.

The ambiance of the place was definitely cozy and refreshing. I don’t know if I’m just weird or something, but I got this picnic-on-the-garden vibes while eating at this restaurant. It was a home away from home. And from where we were sitting, we can see the chefs in action. I was pretty disappointed because it was a different scene from the Iron Chef episodes where everyone’s runnin-g around and panicking. They were all organized and calm. My cousin explained to me that each chef had roles.
FUN FACT ALERT!! The chef who does all the finishing touches is called the Sous Chef!
Here’s a copy of their menu for September 16-…..

Ready to see all the food we ordered?

They have complementary chips which are not really ordinary chips but are actually SOY CHIPS. Interesting right? They are also selling these chips in the restaurant.

Southern Chicken Salad. YUM YUM!

Sweet Potato Puree and GreenEarth Heritage Foundation. It's really creamy and has this healthy taste vibe. Isn't that smiley a cutie?

Salpicao Linguine! My order and did not regret it.

Heart of Palm (ubod) and basil pizza. really light and was a great appetizer.

Stuffed Pork chop

Gaaaaaaaah rib eye for all meat lovers out there!

OUR FAVORITE AND TOTALLY A MUST!! FILET MIGNON!!!! The scallops taste great and the beef is really tender and goes well with the bacon touch. I'm not sure what the blue sauce is but it's really interesting and goes well with the meat and scallops.

JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THISSS!!!

Cordon Bleu

 As for dessert:

Bet you're wondering what this is...

It's their cloud cake that totally tastes like the cloud (I mean, I imagine clouds would taste like this) with pineapple bits

Cordillera coffee for the adults

And lastly, I present to you the whole crowd:
Of course, us!!!

The people who made all those delicious dishes... THANK YOU LORD FOR THESE PEOPLE!

To complete the whole crew...

I BET you are wondering why I never revealed the meaning of Tourne. Well, I want you to find it out for yourself (evil laugh). I really suggest that you come and visit Tourne at The Fort Strip and surely, you’ll always be waiting for their next menu!

YOUR ACCOUNTING TEACHER’S FAVORITE PIZZA: SNR PIZZA AND MEMBER’S TREAT SALE!

Before you get to see the amazing SNR PIZZA.. a little promo…

Guys, you have 2 more days to enjoy SNR’s Members’ treat sale! Up to 50% off on selected items! If you think this sale is just a so-so sale, well, look how look at the lines...

Here are some of the things we got from the sale:

These delicious apple strudels (I have no idea what “strudels” mean but it’s a delicious dessert, good with coffee) BUY ONE TAKE ONE! Really yummy!!! It is not that sweet and totally crispy on the outside.

Starbucks bottled drinks!!! Originally priced at 380 php and now sold at 230 php!!! Now that’s what I call sale!!!

Our favorite SNR roasted chicken!!! And it comes with free 1 liter Pepsi!!! Perfect combination…

sorry if pictures don't look that great because i used my digicam for some of the shots. oops.

And since we are in SNR, let me show you why our accounting teacher can’t stop gushing about their pizza….

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH....

The pizza is soooo big and full of toppings. One slice is like already good for two. Sobrang Sulit!! I suggest that you try their Combo flavor and you’ll see how generous they are when it comes to pizza toppings. Oh! The crust is also to die for because it has this soft on the inside, crispy on the outside effect. Even our accounting teacher is so caught up with this pizza crust. You just have to try it out for yourself!

Warning! I suggest that you come to SNR really early because the lines to the cashiers are incredibly long! It took us around 5 hours before we were served. Or one strategy is that one of you lines up while the other one shops around and just alternate roles afterwards. But it is all worth it after all the good stuffs in discounted prices that you’ll be able to buy. And while waiting, you can try out their pizza!

So remember! Don’t leave SNR without buying the Starbucks in bottle (because these usually cost a lot during ordinary business times), SNR roasted chicken, AND SNR PIZZA!!!

They have branches in Alabang, Congressional, Global City, Baclaran, and Cebu. Check out their site http://www.snrshopping.com/ for inquiries.

2 MORE DAYS TO SHOP ‘TILL YOU DROP IN SNR!!! Enjoy!

PS sorry if i am not able to update my blog regularly...you know...school...and stuff...

FAMILY DAY OUT: TAGAYTAY!!!

Another spontaneous trip with my family! This is what I love about us, our SPONTANEITY.  This time we went for a whole day trip to Tagaytay. Going there just to visit Taal Volcano is so last century. We went there just to try out the amazing foodies that you can’t find here in Manila. We have three agenda in mind: go to the market to buy stuff (more of mama’s agenda), eat, and EAT!!!

We first stopped by the Mahogany Market in Tagaytay. They really have a lot of fruit varieties in the place. We bought langka which is very good and sweet! I love eating this for merienda! Our next stop is Bag of Beans. A trip to Tagaytay just wouldn’t be complete without going to this place. I have eaten breakfast and lunch in Bag of Beans and the ambiance is just so relaxing. Fresh air+ good food + affordable meals= AWESOMENESS! But this time around, we just ate little desserts, bought my favorite cinnabites with this very delicious and creamy cheese sauce that really goes well with it, and bought coffee.

Their dessert pies are to die for!

My favorite Cinnabites!!! See that creamy cheese sauce on top?

You can't leave Tagaytay without bringing home one of these Raisin Bread

The goodies in Bag of Beans

Then it’s food trip time! So first let’s have a battle of the best bulalo! We ate at Leslie’s and Antonio’s to have the best bulalo experience! At Antonio’s, I loved their Steak Bulalo, which is good for a big family, the classic Bulalo, also good for a big family, and Pinakbet rice that is so food my sister and I fought over it. I am not totally into the Steak Bulalo because it is too rich already though it would be good to give it a try. Their Bulalo is good because it is not that greasy.
This really makes me hungry...

My cousin loving the sizzling bulalo

The Pinakbet rice

See our table?

But I would I have to give the award for the best Bulaluhan in Tagaytay to Leslie’s. Their Bulalo is just like the good old Bulalo we all know. It totally reminds you of homemade meals. The bone marrow is really the best! And another plus is that you can ask for free soup! I really feel like I gained 10 pounds from eating all of those. Their sizzling litid (ligament) is also good to try. I bet it goes well with beer but since my dad is there, I didn’t have the chance to try that combo. I also prefer the ambiance in Leslie’s because you get to eat your hot Bulalo with the air blowing through your hair. Just the perfect match. A word of advice though, the place can get a bit crowded during lunch and dinner time so you would really have to come early or reserve your table.

Look at that bone marrow!!!

The sizzling litid (ligaments)

And since we were still not full after all of those, we stopped by Buon Giorno to eat their New York Pizza that my cousin just couldn’t stop gushing about. It can be found at the Cliffhouse area where you can have a good view of the lake. The place can be perfect for barkadas because of the chill vibe of the room. Their pizza was pretty awesome. Crispy crust and lots of cheese but for me it lacks more flavor. Since we were really full after that, we didn’t order anything else besides the pizza. I would really come back to this place again just to try out the other items on their menu. I saw other people’s order (haha sorry. I couldn’t stop myself from looking) and the food really had nice presentations.
The view

To finish off the food trip, we bought milk at Mr. Moo’s. Their Carabao milk varieties are must tries!!!!! Trust me on this one!!!! We bought big bottles of it and I just look forward to breakfast every night just so I can drink them again.

My family and I would definitely do this again! It was a really good way to bond with them. It was like a 2 hour drive away from the city and it really made me forget the stress in school work. So talk to your parents now and plan a day trip to Tagaytay!!!'
